Guthrie
CAD/GIS Software was founded in 1995 by Paul Guthrie after 10 years
industry experience in software development. In June 2003 Guthrie
CAD/GIS Software Pty Ltd was registered as a private company. The
company develops CAD and GIS data conversion software, as well as its
popular CAD Viewer and CAD Markup titles. Location
In 2008 the company located to just outside the small
Adelaide Hills town of Gumeracha (population 440), about
45 minutes drive from the city of Adelaide, South
Australia. Adelaide, with a population of 1.2
million is the fith largest city in Australia, and is the
capital city of the state of South Australia. The town of
Gumeracha (pronounced 'gum-er-acka') got its name from the Peramangk aboriginal words 'umer
acha' meaning 'good watering hole'. The Peramangk people were one of
the original aboriginal tribes of the Adelaide Hills area. Other
surrounding towns include Birdwood (famous for the annual 'Bay to
Birdwood' motor rally), Mount Torrens (a beautiful small pioneering
town), Woodside, and the German heritage town of Lobethal.
