I am attempting to convert .shp to .dwg. At 80% completion when the dialog box says it is writing the output file, I get the following error:
Critical error 2, AD error 222 (Can't allocate vm bindata), terminating
What would be causing this and how do I fix it?

Hi,
It is hard to know exactly what is causing the error.
It could be memory related if the shapefile is very large.
Can you give some more information?
- What type of shapefile is it?
- What is the file size?
- What output version of DXF/DWG do you have selected?
Are you running the latest version of Arcv2CAD?
(look in the 'About' dialog). The latest software is 4.0 A.22

The file in question is a point .shp file.
3.6MB
131866 records
converting to .dwg v2000/2002
I am running version 4.0 A.21
it has also happened with another point .shp file that is 7.8MB
111854 records
with same conversion settings and software version
am also only exporting text labels for one attribute layer
thanks

Hi Dusgos,
Thanks for the extra info.
The 3.6 MB (or 7.8Mb) size should be a problem, so I can only think that something else must be causing the problem. Is it possible for you to email me the shapefile so that we can investigate further? If so please send .SHP + .SHX + .DBF (zipped together is preferred), and also the settings that you are using.
thanks,
Paul G
