Hi,

If the chinese text is written using an AutoCAD bigfont, it should convert ok. If the chinese font is written using a TrueType font (i.e. Unicode font) then current software does not handle it. (It will be supported in CAD2Shape 3.0)
If you believe that the chinese text is in 'AutoCAD bigfont' format but it is still not getting converted correctly please if possible send the drawing so that we can check it out.

Hi Tshug,

Thanks for posting the drawing. There are 2 bigfont fonts used in the drawing:

hztxt.shx
cadsldxj.shx

You would need for these 2 fonts to be present on your system to get the correct (chinese) characters. Otherwise I think that it should work. I tried a translation here with a substitute bigfont, and the bigfont characters were translated. (see attached partial screen shot.)

put these fonts files into cad2shape or into esri arcmap?how to do?In CAD2Shape select 'Labels' translation. In the 'Entities to Translate' dialog select 'Output Text as Polyline'. Initiate the translation by clicking the 'Save' button. CAD2Shape will ask for the location of hztxt.shx or other fonts if it cannot find them.

That's it. You should get a polyline shapefile giving the visual representation of all text including chinese characters.

It looks like an text alignment problem. But if we can try it with the correct fonts it will help us.
