Hi,
is there a setting to mask a feature under a text label? I have lines that need to be annotated with a text label, but I want to mask the line underneath the text.
Also, is there a way to set the colour of the text labels to be the same as the colours of the line? The colours of my lines are linked to an attribute, but I don't see a way to set the text label colours linked to the line colours.
Thanks,
Sergio

Hi Sergio,

However we will definitely look into it, I think that AutoCAD's MTEXT has a Mask option which we could utilize to do that, and can see that it would be a useful option.

Yes. In the Text Labels dialog select the option 'Match Shape Pen Color'. (Make sure that you are running the latest software, as I think that the option may have only been added recently.)

Thanks.
Can I control the 'Match Shape Pen Color' option in batch mode?
I'm considering updating to v5 since I'm still running v3.2. However the text masks and colours are very important for my application, and I always use batch mode.
Cheers,
Sergio

Hi, just about to order my copy of arcv2cad!
Background masks
This you can do easily in AutoCAD, but only in MText. You can convert Text to MText with the command TXT2MTXT. Then select the Mtext and in properties go to Background Mask and change to YES. Then edit the mask properties as you see fit. You can select lots of Mtext at once and Background Mask it, which will speed you up.
However, TXT2MTXT only really works on one text entity at a time. If you select several Text entities and TXT2MTXT them, they will be morphed into one MTXT entity. This might be helpful to you but it's not usually to me.
Guthrie, it would be very helpful if there could be a tickbox in Arcv2CAD to allow you to export labels as MText. It's that much more versatile than Text.
All the best
Dave

Yes, we will implement the 'Export as MTEXT' option.
