Slow file open

I've downloaded the 30 day trial of CAD Viewer and am having one problem. Files that have a lot of layout tabs (20) open really slowly - on the order of about 2 min. 45 seconds. The same drawing with one layout tab opens in about 40 seconds.

The files are AutoCAD 2008 and I'm using a system with XP Pro; Pentium 4, 3 GHz and 512 MB RAM.

Is there any way to speed up the opening of drawings with a lot of layouts?

Hi Beth,

Check the exact version of CAD Viewer that you are running (look in Help | About CAD Viewer). If the version is prior to 5.0 A.37, then please download the latest version here (http://www.guthcad.com/dlviewer.htm), which has significant speed improvements for this problem over previous versions.

If the you are already running 5.0 A.37 or later, then you have the best available version so far, and we are working on improving the speed. (In case there is something special about your drawing you are welcome to send it for us to check, but I suspect that the fact that it has 20 Layouts would be enough to explain the slow loading, and as I say we are still working on improving this.)
