I'm trying to print a batch of dxf-files from an ftp-location. This doesn't work, it doesn't opens them. When i try printing them one by one it does works.

Any solution ?
tnx

Hi,

I can tell you frankly that there has not been any design to open files at an ftp location. It does not necessarily mean that it is not possible, just that if it works it is more by good luck than by design.

You say that printing a single file works. Did you browse via the user interface to load the drawing, or did the drawing load in CAD Viewer by clicking on the drawing in an FTP client application? The latter method is the only one I can actually envisage working. Unfortunately passing an FTP address to CAD Viewer via the command line is not likely to work.

I have added 'Load / Print a drawing from an FTP URL' to our 'CAD Viewer enhancement requests' list for consideration for it to be added to a future software update.

best regards,

Hi,

tnx for the reply.

i browsed through the user interface. If i select a single file at the ftp-location, it does prints it. If i select more then one, nothing happens. (really noting !)

I have to print about two hundred cad drawings every week from an ftp location. It would be a very great help if they can be batch-printed from the ftp-location.

Anyway, your program saves a lot of time already. Before using this, i had to open them one by one in autocad, male the selections and print....

now i download them from the ftp-location (takes a lot of time) than i print them as a batch....great... my biggesty worries now are 1) is there enough paper at the printer/plotter 2) it doesn;t recognises de differenties between an a4 and an A3 drawing (autoselect would be wonderfull !)

kind regards
