I am testing the trial version of Cad2Shape 6.0 and I am very impressed.

My company needs to convert fairly simple dxf files in to x,y coordinates.
Our dxf files only contain lines, arcs, polylines and ellipses to form simple patterns.

When I used cad2shape 6.0 trial to convert a spline shape to x,y coordinates, it worked perfectly - creating evenly spaced points along the entire spline.

However when I create x,y points for a dxf with lines, it only returns the start and end points of each line. Is there a way to force cad2shape to create a coordinate point at a certain spacing along the entire line entitiy?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the question.
re.

Sorry, no. Since a line entity is completely defined by its end points there has been no need up until now to break it up into smaller segments. Obviously however you do have such a need, and we would probably be able to add the option into the software as a custom job for a small fee on top of the cost of the license. Please contact our sales (http://www.guthcad.com/contact.htm) to get a quote if you would be interested in pursuing that.

Thanks!
