View Full Version : Help converting .plt to .dxf to simplify layers
Hi,
I have created my own .plt in Autocadd 2004 and would like to convert
it to .dxf to simplify the layers (don't ask, it's crazy), but when I
convert the .plt file, using HPGL2CAD 3.0, there is nothing on the page.
Can you help me if I send you the .plt file?
thanks,
H.

Hi H,
Thanks for sending the file. The format is in POSTSCRIPT format, so not
an HPGL plot file.
To produce a HPGL plot file you need to install a HPGL printer driver.
If you don't have a HPGL plotter driver listed already in AutoCAD 2004,
then a good one is
"HP DesignJet 500 42 + HPGL2 Card". It can be downloaded from the HP
web site here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=377949&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=25301&prodTypeId=18972
Make sure to get the whole address above in 1 line. If you cannot do
that then go to the hp web site http://www.hp.com (http://www.hp.com/) and select 'Driver
Downloads' and navigate your way to the download. Just make sure that
you select the HP DesignJet 500 printer without the 'PS' on the end of
it (PS=Postscript).
Good luck.
