I have an autocad file (dwg) that contains Japanese characters. When i open this file with Cadviewer 4.0 A119, the japanese characters come through as random numbers, letters and symbols. Other text such as numbers comes through fine. This is a Windows 2000 SP4 computer with the Japanese character set loaded in the regional settings. Other programs on this computer can read the Japanese characters. Is there a way to get Cadviewer to recognize these Japanese characters in the autocad file?

Hi,

Unfortunately the Japanese characters may not display correctly, we do not yet have full support for it.

However you can try a simple option that may work. And that is to toggle the TrueType fonts (hit F2 function key or the 'T' icon, or select via Settings menu.)

best regards,
