Hi
Im currently using your converter to convert dwg files to shp but i have faced a problem. After converting, I use another software to view the shp files but the text strings in the file (with arabic charset) are rendered incorrectly so that you only see some coded labels on the screen. Would you please give me a hint?
Thank you so much in advance

Hi,

It will probably mainly depend on whether the Arabic font in your DWG file is an SHX font or not.

CAD2Shape requires a font to either be an SHX font, or if not (e.g. a TrueType font), that it can be replaced by a suitable SHX font.

By default if CAD2Shape does not find an SHX font specified in the DWG file, then it uses the font SIMPLEX.SHX as a replacement. To change this default behaviour, go to the CAD2Shape 'Settings' dialog and uncheck the option 'Map unfound fonts to simplex.shx'.

Run the translation again. CAD2Shape should ask for the location of the Arabic font, at which time you need to either locate the actual font or a suitable replacement SHX font on your system.

Good luck,
