I am having a problem with OLE objects in our drawings from AutoCad 2006 LT. Our draftsmen insert an excel file as an OLE object in certain drawings. They view and print properly in AutoCad but don't show up in CAD viewer. I have downloaded the latest version ( Version 4.0 A.127 ) but it didn't solve the problem. Could you tell me how to make this work?

Hi,

Unfortunately OLE objects are not supported in the current software.

CAD Viewer is able to display older Excel and MS-Word OLE objects by interpreting them directly, but this does not work with the latest Excel and MS-Word versions.

The earliest that OLE objects will be supported is first half 2006.

Sorry about that.

best regards,
Software Support

Does the new version support OLE objects?

Hi,

We wish, but unfortunately not yet. However work has begun, and the target is for it to be done in CAD Viewer 5.0. CAD Viewer 5.0 will be available near the end of the year, and will also support AutoCAD 2007 drawings.
