What is the current support for MS Windows XP x64 for CAD Viewer?
and dwgConvert, CAD2Shape, Arcv2CAD come to think of it.
I can test them, but I was wondering if anybody already knows.
I ask because I see that PDF-XChange v3.5 now supports x64, but my CAD Viewer 4 comes with v3.40 build 0087
thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,
The next update of CAD Viewer 4.0 (4.0 A.130) onwards, will ship with PDF-XChange 3.5, and so should be fully compatible with XP x64.
The first such update will be available on our beta download page here, under the 'Maintenance' download link.

All going well, it should be in the standard release version within a couple of weeks.

As for Arcv2CAD, CAD2Shape, dwgConvert, they are all 32 bit applications, and so they should all run fine under XP x64. (At this stage we do not see any pressing need to make a 64 bit compilations of these software.)
best regards,

Ok, I just downloaded and tried to install CadViewer v137 onto my Win XP x64 laptop.
unfortunately mid install (during pdfx3_sa.exe bit) I get a window appearing titled "Printers" and the message "Unable to complete task" or something like that.
PDF printer is not installed despite me being logged in with admin rights.

Hi Simon,
Please download the PDF-XChange X64 driver here.
http://www.guthcad.com/download/pdf-xchange/pdfx3sa_x64.exe
Hopefully it will correctly install the PDF-XChange X64 end-user driver, and it will work with CAD Viewer.
Let me know how you go.
thanks,
Paul G.

Paul
yes, it installs correctly as a 64 bit program, but then asks for a registration code, which I don't have, so it is currently running in Trial mode
thanks

Hello Simon,
Can you check whether it works via CAD Viewer? In theory because CAD Viewer has licensed PDF-XChange, it should work. I.e. it should be fully functional when accessed within CAD Viewer, but remain in trial mode when accessed outside of CAD Viewer.
Thanks,
Paul
