Trouble converting to Shapefile from AUTOCAD

:( Downloaded trial version of Cad2Shape and installed on Windows XP system. Saved AutoCad (2002) DWG file containing about 200 parcels (tax map). The drawing had numerous layers which we turn OFF. Only kept the layer containing the closed polyline objects describing each lot. Tried to convert to Polygon ShapeFile format to no avail. I believe I set all the setting properly. Checked "close unclosed polylines" box (even though AUTOCAD says all the "closed polyline objects" are "closed." Program terminates with message: "....file not created" and, of course, no file is created!

Am I setting something wrong, or is there something about the input DWG file or layer that Cad2Shape does not see, or does not like?

Hi.

Check in the 'Entities to translate' dialog that:

- 'Polyline / LWpolyline /..' is checked
- if the Polylines are inside Blocks then check the 'Block' option.
- normally the 'translate entities within Blocks only' option should be OFF.

If the above makes no difference, then if possible email me the drawing so that I can check it out further.
