UPDATE:

CAD Viewer 5.0 now available - supports AutoCAD 2007! (http://www.guthcad.com/viewer.htm)

Hi Jim,

Will CADViewer 4.0 work with AutoCAD 2007 drawings ?Sorry, not at this stage. AutoCAD 2007 has a new drawing format. We are hopeful that we will be able to provide a new version of the software to handle AutoCAD 2007 in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year.

In the meantime, especially where there is a requirement to view / read AutoCAD drawings independently of AutoCAD then:

1. If considering upgrading to AutoCAD 2007, and you do not have a strong 3d requirement, it may be worth putting off or even skipping this upgrade. See a review here (http://www.dotsoft.com/acad2007.htm) of AutoCAD 2007. Their conclusion: Our opinion is that unless you are really into 3D solids modeling, this may be one to skip.2. If you do opt to get AutoCAD 2007, then for the time being (i.e. until AutoCAD 2007 support is more widely available) set the default Save format to be 2004.

best regards,
