Is there any way to attach text to features during conversion? Much like the way attribute text is associated with features. The problem I have with attribute features is the features are not editable in my CAD environment. Once I explode the features for editing, the resulting feature is broken into numerous little segments instead of one continuous segment and the text dissapears competely. Using the text function allows for editing my features, however, I need the text associated to the features so that I can extract the correct features and edit both text and features. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,
I don't know of a ready way to do what you describe. In AutoCAD, Attributes can be editted using the ATTEDIT command, or via the Modify Menu --> Object --> Attribute --> Single. (In case you are using AutoCAD, but were not aware of the commands to edit Attributes and still keep them associated with the feature.) You could export both Text and Attributes, keeping the Attributes invisible (by unchecking the Arcv2CAD 'Attribs Visible' option.) This would allow you to freely edit the text labels, but of course the attributes would not be changed which would defeat the purpose.) best regards, Software Support |
